I heard a quote one time: "The difference between the impossible and the possible lies within YOU!" Maybe a real long shot, but you've decided to go for it so stay focused and keep inspiring all of us golfers.

Go for it... It's inspiring to see people really go for their goals and passions!

I grew up in TX as a football player, def. tackle, so I wasn't a small guy... 6' - 230 lbs out of high school, but it wasn't my passion, it was my fathers.

Got into running a bit in my 20's, started running marathons... Dropped a few lbs, and enjoyed it. Then a met a guy who had just completed the Hawaiian Ironman. At the time I thought to myself... No way in H..L, would I ever do that. Then a few years later I moved to PA, met a guy who put on some foot races, and he was putting on the little triathlon thing. He convinced me to try it - said I could enter the clydesdale division, and if I won I'd when a cheese cake - go figure. I didn't even have a bike, nor could I really swim,. My buddy gave me a bike and few tips for the swim... low-and-behold - I won a cheese cake. Long story- short, within about 1 1/2 yrs I went on to transform my 230lb def. tackle body into a lean mean 187lb Ironman machine. My first Hawaii Ironman was my 5th triathlon ever, in '91. I went on to compete in three consecutive Hawaii Ironman triathlons with a personal best of 10:05 +/-.

Stay focused, stay on track... The only person who will ever truly understand why you must do this, is YOU! Your mantra: "These Guys Are Good, And So I'm I!"

Oh, my new passion... golf! Less stress on the knees, and about the same amount of time out of the house.

Phil,
I encourage you to keep on headed toward your goal. The reason why most people are frustrated with goal setting is not that they set them too high and don't reach them, it's that they set them too low and do reach them. I created the GolfGym PowerSwing Trainer in 1987 when "golf fitness" was an oxymoron. We are still here and growing with our new partner, PGA Tour Bio-mechanincs, Strength and Conditioning Coach Joey D. We are headed to Orlando for the PGA Merchandise Show at the end of January and are introducing our completely new packaging and product line. Throughout the past 20+ years, there were many times that we thought of pulling the plug, deep in debt, and totally discouraged, but we knew what we had was helping golfers and it kept us going. We will have the best year ever in the crummiest economy ever.
KEEP IT UP!!!
